Silence is the new luxury!
One of those special places in the Mooirivier area is De Lemelerberg. It is part of the Sallandse Heuvelrug, one of the largest contiguous nature reserves in the Netherlands. This hilly, varied nature reserve can be explored by bicycle, on foot or with a mountain bike. You will find extensive heathland, interspersed with sand plains, forests and springs. The area is special because of the large amount of juniper berries and the sand lizard. And with a bit of luck you will come across the flock of sheep. An absolute must-see and definitely worth a visit!
Castles and estates
Mooirivier lies directly on the banks of the River Vecht in the province of Overijssel, adjacent to two areas of exceptional natural beauty, with their characteristic plants and meadow birds. An ideal spot in the heart of the lush green Vecht valley and perfectly suited for sports activities like canoeing, walking or cycling. Our favourite route is the castle and estate route in the surrounding area, a must for cyclists and ramblers. The unique, centuries-old estate village of Vilsteren is just a stone’s throw away from our hotel.
